Zagros Petrochemical Company (ZPC) was founded in the year 2000 with the aim of producing 1.650 million tons methanol per annum as part of huge scale petrochemical projects within the frame work of Iran's third economic development program.
Dedicated land for zagros is 25 Hectare, 15 hectars is allocated to 4th Methanol plant and the rest for 6th methanol.
With scope of engineering and procurement, the contract was signed with consortium of Lurgi Oel Gas Chemie (Germany) and PIDEC (Iran).
Lurgi holds license and is responsible for basic design with PIDEC has completed detail design. Procurement of equipments from reputed Iranian and non-Iranian vendors were held by Lurgi / Pidec based on job split specification.
All the implemented, activities of entire plant including civil, erection, construction, precommissioning and commissioning have been accomplished by Iranian.
Feed stock and required utilities for ZPC are supplied by south Pars Gas co and Mobin petrochemical co, respectively.
Utilizing latest methanol technology and integrate high performance energy recovery system to produce and export 1.620 million tons per annum of MP superheated steam to clients are key features of 4th and 6th methanol company.
As per current statistics, global methanol production capacity 50 million ton per annum among which Iran's share is about 2.1 percent.
